Job description

  • Record/analyze chemical and energy costs. Ensure accuracy and timeliness and prepare cost reports and variance analysis.
  • Prepare monthly EBITDA and production operations forecast and analysis.
  • Evaluate, maintain, and improve systems and financial controls around the inventory process.
  • Evaluate cost control procedures and consumptions trends. Recommend improvements for Crofton.
  • Assist with corporate requests and month-end closing processes, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliation and analysis.
  • Maintain quality service to, and effective communication with, mill Procurement and PE management regarding the price for chemical materials, and major supplies, as well as energy/chemical consumptions.
  • Fully support other division members and provide detailed cost analysis, to help them to make optimal decisions.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.
  • Assist with the implementation of accounting standards, policies, and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) or working towards.
  • Post-secondary education with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel, and strong database analysis skills.
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail oriented, organized, proactive, and able to meet tight deadlines and multi-task.
  • Proven prioritization, time management and task management skills and effective communication skills with internal team.
