Job description

Our client, a large oil and gas company, is looking for a Business Financial Analyst for a 3-month position working in Toronto. This is an excellent opportunity for a Business Financial Analyst with a financial services background

As a Business FinancialAnalyst your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Managing Finance's testing strategies and execution. This requires ensuring that test plans are completed on time, that they are matched to existing requirements, and that they are executed accurately and on schedule.

  • Assisting members of the GA Finance Team who perform reporting for various asset classes (Securities, Private Equity, Real Estate, Mortgages, Derivatives, Other Invested Assets, and Total Company Reporting) in understanding their GO programme requirements. This includes designing testing plans that are in line with specifications and ensuring that testing results match expectations.

  • Executing testing for Finance in accordance with the timeline set by GO and ensuring that any testing issues are appropriately managed and escalated.

Qualifications required for the Business Financial Analyst include:

  • 3+ years in the investment/insurance industry, with experience in projects and transformation

  • A strong understanding of financial accounting standards in insurance and investment management

  • Has obtained or is working towards a CPA designation

  • Project management experience, specifically with testing planning and execution
