We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Business Development Specialist to join our growing team. This individual will play a key role in advancing the firm’s business development and client engagement initiatives across multiple practice groups. The ideal candidate is a proactive team player with excellent communication skills, who thrives in a fast-paced professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proposal & Pitch Development: Review RFP (Request for Proposal) and proposal platforms to find potential client opportunities that match the firm's service capabilities. Prepare compelling, tailored RFP responses, pitches, and proposals that showcase the firm’s strengths and address client needs. Collaborate with lawyers and subject matter experts to gather content, conduct research, and ensure submissions are delivered on time. Maintain and manage RFP database.
- Seminar/Webinar Planning & Execution: Coordinate and execute client-facing events including webinars, seminars, and other firm-hosted programming. Manage logistics, speaker preparation, registration, post-event follow-up, and internal/external communications.
- Client Communications: Draft and distribute client and prospect newsletters, alerts, and other marketing collateral for various practice groups. Ensure all communications align with brand standards and messaging priorities.
- Engage with Focus Area Organizations: Regularly connect with organizations within the firm's focus areas to identify pitch opportunities and coordinate with lawyers for engagement.
- Project Support: Support strategic firm-wide and practice-specific initiatives, including business plans, key client programs, and lateral integration efforts. Assist with practice group reporting and performance tracking.
- Technology & Systems: Maintain content and data in the firm’s marketing and CRM systems. Utilize project management tools such as Monday.com to track and prioritize deliverables and collaborate across departments.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- A capable collaborator who also works well independently with minimal supervision.
- Able to multi-task, organize and prioritize workload.
- Experience working in a professional services environment (law firm experience is preferred).
- Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Monday.com, and email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp) and the ability to adapt to, and become proficient with, a range of cloud-based platforms and office applications.
- A strategic thinker with a client-first mindset and an interest in professional services marketing and business development.
Education & Experience:
- Post-secondary degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field. (Exception for candidates that have 5+ years of experience in a business development or marketing role.)
- 4+ years of experience in a business development or marketing role, preferably within a law firm or other professional services firm.
