Business Development Representative (Remote)

Join us at PolicyMe! We're modernizing insurance and we'd like your help. The Canadian insurance landscape has remained largely unchanged for decades, and we are in the process of changing that. We're a remote-first, Toronto-based startup with big ambitions.

Role Overview: As a Business Development Representative, you will nurture inbound leads and convert them into sales opportunities. You will engage with prospective clients, qualify them, and schedule meetings for our advisor team. This role suits a motivated individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for insurance.

You will be instrumental in driving revenue growth by turning leads into high-quality opportunities.

Build & Shape This Role: This is a new role, offering you the chance to define and build the business development function from scratch. You can experiment, refine strategies, and establish best practices to enhance efficiency and results. Your feedback will influence our approach to lead conversion, outreach, and engagement. Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with inbound leads via calls, emails, and chat to understand needs and determine fit
  • Qualify leads and schedule meetings for advisors
  • Provide information on our insurance products and ensure smooth handoff to the advisor team
  • Maintain CRM records with detailed interaction notes
  • Collaborate with teams to optimize lead nurturing and conversion strategies
  • Meet or exceed monthly targets
  • Stay updated on industry trends
  • Represent PolicyMe professionally and client-centrically
  • Analyze lead data to improve outreach strategies

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years in sales, business development, or similar, preferably in insurance or financial services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience handling inbound leads and qualifying clients
  • Proficiency with CRM software (HubSpot) and lead management tools
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred but not required
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
