Job summary

Victaulic, a global leader in mechanical pipe joining solutions, seeks a Business Development Representative in the Toronto area. You’ll drive growth in the GTA by leveraging a technical background to engage engineers, owners and contractors with Victaulic product solutions, focusing on engineering coverage and Toronto market relationships.

Reporting to the Engineering Solutions Manager, you’ll develop design specifications and promote technical solutions, traveling as needed to engage clients

Qualifications

We’re looking for a Business Development Representative to join our team in the GTA. Reporting to the Engineering Solutions Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in driving growth and promoting our innovative product solutions. This position is heavily focused on engineering coverage, with an emphasis on candidates who have experience and established relationships within the Toronto construction and engineering market. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact by leveraging your technical background and established network in the Toronto engineering community, promoting innovative solutions to key players in the industry.

WHAT YOU’LL BUILD & OWN

• Proactively identify and cultivate new business opportunities by building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, particularly engineers and decision-makers.
• Leverage your knowledge of the Toronto market to drive adoption of our product solutions, focusing on technical specifications and engineering requirements.
• Operate effectively in an autonomous leadership role while contributing to a dynamic, high-performing team.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance product awareness and highlight the breadth of our technical solutions.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of our product’s technical scope, market applications, and services.
• Use strong engineering skills to write and develop design specifications, supporting clear communication with technical audiences.
• Establish and sustain close contact with stakeholders to influence, convert, and uphold engineering standards that align with our product offerings.
• Conduct small group councils with top-tier owners, engineers, and product executives to support business development initiatives.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or BCom.
• Extensive experience within the construction and engineering fields, particularly in the Toronto market.
• Proven track record in sales, including account management, achieving targets, and successfully navigating complex sales at the owner and engineering levels.
• Exceptional engineering skills with the ability to develop and present detailed design specifications.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
• Professional demeanor with a focus on building long-terms relationships.
• Willingness to travel as required to engage with clients and stakeholders.

COMPENSATION

The base salary for this position is $100,000+ annually, based on experience, plus a company vehicle and bonus incentives.
