About the client:

Our client is a provider of water treatment and dewatering equipment and services to the construction industry. They have a dedicated team of professionals who design, install, and maintain customized systems to meet each client’s unique needs. Their services are provided to owners and general contractors developing large commercial, institutional, and residential properties, in accordance with municipal and erosion control specifications.

They are adding a Business Development Representative to their South Vancouver, BC team (hybrid - combination of office, client visits, and home office). The new hire will be a key player in the client’s expansion strategy, responsible for identifying and capturing new business opportunities. This role demands a proactive, high-energy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can build and maintain strong client relationships.

Responsibilities:
  1. Identify and Pursue New Business Opportunities
  2. Aggressively prospect, qualify, and develop leads to build a robust pipeline of potential clients.
  3. Client Relationship Management
  4. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients by understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  5. Sales Strategy Development
  6. Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets and company goals.
  7. Presentation and Negotiation
  8. Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to potential clients, and negotiate contracts to secure new business.
  9. Market Research
  10. Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and potential areas for growth.
  11. Work closely with project management and operations teams to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
  12. Reporting
  13. Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline status. Provide regular reports to senior management on sales performance and market insights.
Qualifications:
Experience
  • 3+ years of proven success in business development or sales within the construction industry.
  • Previous knowledge of construction site operations and ability to interact with key site personnel (Site Superintendents/Site Managers).
  • Established relationships and reputation within the construction industry.
Skills
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients.
Personality
  • Highly motivated and results-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • In-depth understanding of the construction industry and its site operations.
Compensation:
  • $80-100k base salary + uncapped commission (expected OTE of $150k or more in the first year). Please note: our client is open to salary negotiations depending on the candidate's experience, so compensation is flexible.
