JOB DESCRIPTION :
The Business Development Representative will be primarily responsible for growing the customer base and strengthening relationships with existing clients in the U.S. market. You will actively listen to client needs, share insights on products and market trends with the team, and serve as a key liaison with operations. You’ll also contribute to the annual sales budget planning in close collaboration with colleagues and clients.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Strategic Prospecting: Identify new business opportunities in close collaboration with the Account Manager, Sales Administrator, and our manufacturing representatives.
- Client Relationship Development: Conduct targeted visits in Canada, the United States, and Europe to deepen understanding of client needs and gather key market insights.
- Technical Expertise & Liaison: Master the technical specifications of our manufacturing process to effectively align customer requirements with our production teams.
- Innovation & Growth: Actively contribute to identifying new product development opportunities.
- Customer Needs Analysis: Detect unmet needs of current and potential clients through active listening.
- Competitive & Market Intelligence: Stay informed on market trends, market share, pricing, production capacities, and the sales and marketing strategies of key competitors.
- Pricing Strategy: Develop a solid understanding of our pricing structure to ensure both competitiveness and profitability.
- Sales Planning & Follow-up: Participate in the development of the sales forecast budget, maintain follow-ups with clients, and generate new sales opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, an MBA, or other training in applied sciences or business.
- Strong sales experience (minimum 3 to 5 years), ideally within the U.S. market (an asset).
- Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient with CRM systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong technical understanding to accurately assess client needs and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
- Basic knowledge of cost analysis and production overhead.
- Fluency in both French and English to communicate effectively with a diverse client base.
WORK CONDITIONS :
- Salary to be discussed based on experience, base salary plus commissions or bonuses
- Remote work, with occasional visits to the Victoriaville plant
- Willingness to travel a few times per year to the U.S., Quebec, or Europe
