Objective:

What you will be doing:

  • Manage relationships with customers by staying in touch and actively responding to their needs.
  • Analyze clients' technical needs, with an understanding of their process and operations.
  • Identify opportunities and develop technical solutions to meet customers' needs and requirements.
  • Articulate product characteristics and our key differentiators in the market.
  • Work closely with the design and manufacturing team to improve customers’ experience.
  • Establish new accounts and service accounts by identifying potential customers, and planning and organizing sales call schedules.
  • Travel to companies and businesses to sell metering equipment for mechanical and electrical uses.
  • Provide competitive information such as bid situations, pricing data, or bundling arrangements in order to establish negotiated pricing contracts for assigned products.
  • Perform product demonstrations, installations, and application support.
  • Improve product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers in person or by phone.
  • Take orders and get signed proposals.
  • Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of the manufacturing department’s production and delivery schedules.
  • Arrange for repairs as needed.
  • Develop a daily/weekly call list and maintain information accuracy monthly.
  • Provide product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Aid in preparing cost estimates by gathering blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel.
  • Determine improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in customer environments; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
  • Submit orders by conferring with technical support staff; costing engineering changes.
  • Develop customers’ staff by providing technical information and training.
  • Comply with federal, provincial, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; advising customers on product, service, or equipment adherence to requirements; advising customers on needed actions.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
  • Responsible for the completion of Operating Services Agreements.

What you must have:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar sales role.
  • Technical aptitude.
  • Ability to define customer specifications and needs to specify and quote an engineered product.
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to present a professional and positive image.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and very organized.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work independently and as a team-oriented player.
  • Excellent problem solver.

Salary/Rate Range: $100,000 – $111,000
