A leading company in power product solutions seeks a Business Development Manager in Eastern Canada to grow their business. You will focus on establishing new contracts and maintaining existing ones while building relationships in the marine propulsion industry. With your sales expertise and understanding of generator solutions, you will drive success within the dealer network.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant inside/outside sales experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Marine Propulsion/Auxiliary Engines.
  • Fluency in English; French communication is a strong asset.

Job description

GENREP has been a provider of Power Product solutions to Canadian businesses since 1983. Starting as a Service organization focused on maintaining Emergency Standby Generators, we have grown to an organization that provides end to end Generator and Engine solutions.

GENREP is currently looking for a Business Development Manager - Power Product s for Eastern Canada. The Business Development Manager – Power Products (East) will be responsible for growing Genrep’s business, while simultaneously focusing on maximizing and extending existing contracts, across all of Canada.

Main Responsibilities :

  • Report to Manager, Power Product Sales in Ontario.
  • Perform outside sales, focusing on establishing new contracts, maintaining the lifecycle of existing contracts, building meaningful customer relationships, and growing the dealer network.
  • Initiate sales and follow up to close new business. Address all incoming calls and requests for new contracts in your assigned geographic area.
  • Generate and track all contract quotes via ERP system and assist customers with new maintenance contract requests. Track and list updates on internal reports.
  • Accurately complete proposals and prepare responses to ensure profitable service agreements.
  • Travel within your defined geographic territory and build relationships and business activity. Maintain an ongoing state of professionalism when meeting with customers, promoting the company, and tending to client requests.
  • Work with the Finance department for credit approval to set up new accounts. All accounts must be assigned and approved by the Manager.
  • Work closely with Service and Sales departments to enhance bids and build customer relationships.
  • Quarterly visits to HQ - Toronto
  • Other duties as required.

Work hours : 8 : 00 am - 4 : 30 pm, Monday to Friday

Reports to : Manager, Power Products

Desired Skills, Knowledge and Experience :

  • Post-secondary education with a diploma / degree in business management, marketing, or engineering.
  • 3+ years of relevant inside / outside sales experience.
  • In-depth knowledge & understanding of Marine Propulsion / Auxiliary Engines; Industrial gensets. Comfort with explaining Genrep products.
  • Experience with ERP systems. Experience with Epicor is an asset.
  • Outstanding business acumen with an ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Go-getter attitude equipped with a specialty in building & maintaining long-term relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Established Relations with Shipyards / Boat Builders is an asset.
  • Goal-oriented, energetically focusing efforts on meeting priority objectives.
  • Proven skills at establishing and building key business partnerships both externally to drive revenue and internally to optimize effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Must hold a valid G Class driver’s license with access to reliable transportation.
  • Must be willing to travel. (Up to 50%)
  • Written and oral fluency in English. French communication skills are a strong asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
