Job description

The Business Development Manager will be part of a wider sales team, which as a group will be responsible for both proactive new business development as well as account management. As a business development manager, the role will primarily be responsible for the generation and management of a sustainable pipeline of new customer work that reflects the current and anticipated business strategy. This will be achieved by using market research and engagement with key stakeholders and potential partner organisation with subsequent action plans to convert opportunities into tenders/sales.

Duties will include:

Business intelligence

  • Working with the wider sales team, develop and manage an up-to-date understanding of the integrated security environment over the agreed plan period, using the information to consider the implications for existing and new sectors and to develop an understanding of relevant sectors and how they are likely to respond.
  • Conduct essential research to gain insights into the company's portfolio of sectors, customers, and emerging opportunities.

Client relationships

  • Build on an already established network of contacts across Evolution’s sectors to bring opportunities into the business that can be converted to tenders/sales.
  • Be able to both take the lead on client relationships, but equally introduce to regional teams and ensure a robust client relationship, management, strategy and delivery.
  • Engage with sectors and customers to anticipate potential business opportunities and implement actions that will position Evolution with differentiated advantage.
  • Proven in new business wins, ideally within the IP/Analytics, integrated security sector with a focus on a holistic system selling approach across all aspects of integrated security.
  • A proven track record in new business development and account retention within the large corporate business sectors.
  • Consultative and collaborative approach with emphasis on new business opportunities.
  • Must have a proven understanding of security system design to quote fully integrated systems.
  • Create new and foster existing relationships with integrated security suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Prepare programmes of external communication, customer engagement and brand promotion that will contribute to the achievement of Evolution’s objectives.
  • Organise / participate in key networking events to raise Evolution’s profile.

The successful candidate is likely to meet all the following criteria:

  • Experience in fostering commercial partnerships to enhance service delivery and drive innovation for customers.
  • Comprehensive understanding of both strategic and tactical marketing and business development.
  • Demonstrated capability to achieve and surpass yearly sales goals.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competence in prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines efficiently.
  • Skilful at identifying and nurturing new relationships to accomplish strategic business goals.
  • Adept at transforming client relationships into business opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of constructive and effective communication.
  • Communicate with authority and assurance in various contexts with all levels of staff and client organizations.
  • Capable of contributing to strategic development and accountable for achieving strategic objectives.
  • Able to identify shifting market dynamics that may affect customers’ businesses and implement proactive strategies for positive contribution.
  • Proven ability to work accurately and effectively as part of diverse teams, both internally and externally, with strong time management and organization skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to achieve and surpass yearly sales goals.
  • Possession of a full and clean Irish/EU driving license.
