A Day In The Life

The Business Development Manager (BDM), reporting to the Director, Dealer Performance, manages finance and insurance income activities for dealerships in the National Sales Division. Responsibilities include enhancing market penetration, identifying growth opportunities, and managing programs to maximize profitability and customer loyalty.

As a BDM, your duties include:

  1. Scheduling dealership visits to promote sales and income development.
  2. Meeting with various dealership departments and leadership.
  3. Assisting in setting sales standards and accountability.
  4. Providing post-visit reports to management.
  5. Supporting F&I personnel recruitment.
  6. Using reporting tools to assess performance.
  7. Participating in meetings and coordinating training.
  8. Analyzing performance metrics regularly.
  9. Building customer loyalty through solutions that improve sales and profitability.
  10. Communicating needs and strategies to stakeholders.
  11. Developing 90-day growth plans.
  12. Modeling and demonstrating sales and F&I skills.
  13. Training dealership staff on performance platforms and compliance standards.

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5-8 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in dealership management roles.
  • Ability to work independently and lead within budgets.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of Financial Services Sales Menus & Partner DMS is a plus.
  • Positive leadership attitude, excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong planning, business acumen, and familiarity with dealership KPIs.
  • Legal ability to work in the U.S. and willingness to obtain necessary licenses.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

This role involves significant travel and exposure to various environments, including dealership settings, with potential exposure to weather, noise, and chemicals.
