Job description

Business Development & Membership Growth

  • Conduct market research to identify high-potential companies and industry trends.
  • Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies to engage mid to large-sized businesses.
  • Leverage multiple channels (calls, emails, social media) to connect with key decision-makers.
  • Implement data-driven prospecting techniques to prioritize and tailor engagement efforts.

Strategic Sales & Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with business leaders, stakeholders, and industry influencers.
  • Develop compelling membership proposals and presentations that address client needs and showcase ROI.
  • Negotiate and close membership deals, ensuring seamless onboarding and engagement for new members.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (sales, marketing, program management) to align messaging and strategy.

Marketing & Outreach Collaboration

  • Partner with marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns and promotional materials that enhance member acquisition.
  • Provide insights from prospect interactions to refine messaging, outreach strategies, and member offerings.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand visibility and connect with potential members.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of outreach, leads, and partnership agreements in the CRM system.
  • Generate regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and business development activities.
  • Use data analytics to refine strategies, measure effectiveness, and support decision-making initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, sales, or partnership management, preferably within the retail or non-profit sector.
  • Proven success in closing deals with mid to large-sized businesses.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, sales strategies, and membership models.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and highly organized.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for meetings and industry events.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) would be an asset.
