Aecon is seeking a Business Development Manager to join the Urban Transportation Solutions group to support dynamic transit projects. What You'll Do Here :
- Develop objectives and strategies supporting Urban Transportation Solution (UTS) business development goals in target market segments.
- Lead the development and implementation of Aecon UTS strategic business plan.
- Conduct market research on market size, growth potential, and shares.
- Monitor industry events, partnerships, and announcements to understand competition and opportunities.
- Work with internal stakeholders to develop new services and go-to-market strategies.
- Collaborate on pursuing emerging market opportunities in UTS with Operations, Leadership, and other teams.
- Prepare and execute business development plans aligned with the Operations and Executive teams.
- Maintain pursuit lists/CRM, develop monitoring, and report on opportunities.
- Organize and prepare submissions for pre-qualification and Expressions of Interest, collaborating with proposals team.
- Develop strategies for success in proposals, ensuring cross-team alignment.
- Participate in proposal preparation and client follow-up.
- Advise and liaise with prospective and current clients, maintaining effective contact including post-award.
- Identify new work leads and manage follow-up.
- Work with Bid leads and Business Development Director to leverage strengths and winning strategies.
- Set and update annual revenue targets and budgets.
- Support marketing and communication activities for strategic initiatives.
- Interface with senior UTS members and clients, and coordinate joint initiatives with partners.
- Promote an inclusive culture that fosters equity, diverse perspectives, and career growth.
What You Bring To The Team :
- Technical background with a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or equivalent experience (MBA preferred).
- At least 8 years of experience in business development for major infrastructure projects.
- Strong business analytical and negotiation skills.
- Solid understanding of client procurement approaches.
- Effective facilitation skills for complex business and market problems.
- Ability to identify options and mitigate impacts proactively.
- Data reporting and trend analysis skills.
- Well-organized, energetic, and capable of working under pressure.
- Clear and effective communication skills for various settings.
