Title: Business Development Manager

Reports To: COO

Compensation: Commission based

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute a business development strategy for assigned territory
    o Research and investigate companies and their key officers to determine profit potential, business fit and approach
    o Analyze the territory/market’s potential and determine the value of existing and respective customers’ value to Microart
    o Make strategic presentations to clients and potential clients
    o Lead customers through the Microart sales process
    o Qualify opportunities and create action plans and timelines
    o Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers
    o Maintain a current and accurate log of activity and results by clients and potential clients
  2. Develop strong business relationships with customers at the C-level and create sales strategies based on customer feedback and the market environment
    o Meet with potential opportunities to fully understand their business and determine their needs
    o Follow up on first engagements (quote opportunities) and determine next steps
    o Maintain timely and regular interfacing with all levels of customer management to ensure a thorough and full understanding of the customer’s interests, requirements, and opportunities
    o Build strong customer relationships and customer recognition of the Microart value proposition for long term solutions of their manufacturing needs
    o Maintain a qualified pipeline with timelines and revenue potential
    o Stay current on client activity and feedback
    o Schedule appointments and visit assigned existing customers to determine additional opportunities
  3. Identify customer “pain points” and develop a winning strategy to address, develop, and deliver a solution that is customized to meet the customer’s unique needs
    o Providing sales solutions to customers’ problems
    o Interface and coordinate the solution and resolution management with customer’s key contacts and Microart business leads for any issue related to product manufacturing, test specifications/results, purchase order release, engineering or quality issues, etc.
  4. Ongoing sales activity
    o Plan, monitor and report sales action plan to management on monthly/quarterly basis
    o Prepare reports for sales tracking and measurement, and maintain activity and expense accounts
    o Interact regularly with Project Managers assigned to customers
    o Liaise with assigned customers and the company for up-to-date status of opportunities, service levels, and pricing and new product release launches
    o Perform regular maintenance and updating of customers’ files including contacts and sales history
    o Respond to sales inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically or in person, and provide customer service satisfaction and good client relationships
    o Keep up-to-date on new products, trends, procedures and tools in the market
    o Participate in trade shows and conventions as needed
    o Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum Bachelor’s degree (engineering or business related discipline)
  2. 5-7 years of progressive “Hunter” experience in electronics industry (preferably in EMS) with a proven track record of sales success and client development
  3. Proven experience in basic sales principles such as lead generation, opportunity qualification, proposal development, contract negotiation and closure
  4. Demonstrated ability to develop winning strategies for the customer based on existing solutions and/or creation of new solutions
  5. Demonstrated ability to document and forecast sales pipeline, and to attain and exceed quotas on a regular basis
  6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to interact with and make meaningful and impactful presentations to all levels within the company, including the C-suite
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  8. Desire and ability to learn new technologies and concepts
  9. Ability to travel to current/potential customers up to 60% of the time; some overnight travel possible
  10. Experience with Dynamics or other similar CRM desired
