Trans Global Insurance Group (TGI) includes a Property and Casualty company and a Life Insurance company. TGI was founded over 25 years ago with the aim of providing Canadians with simple and straightforward insurance coverage that provides security and peace of mind. Since that time, TGI has grown to serve Canadians from coast to coast with a variety of affordable and effective insurance products.

TGI offers a variety of insurance products, including an industry-leading Credit Insuranceprogram. We work with several national companies in retail, banking, financing, automotive and fintech to provide customers with the assurance that if the unexpected happens, they will know that their payments will be made. We are growing and looking to add a Business Development Manager to our team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end sales cycle; actively search for and identify new clients and opportunities, prospect and network, and build an appropriate sales pipeline.
  • Develop new client relationships and expand our service offering with existing clients.
  • Develop and nurture successful long-term client relationships by demonstrating value delivered and innovative solutions.
  • Track and report on key pursuits to the TGI management team.
  • Develop and recommend product design, pricing, contracting, and risk mitigation strategies for all proposals using sound business acumen.
  • Ensure that prospective client needs and requirements are fully understood and represented in the design of the proposal presentations.
  • Prepare and deliver on-site presentations to clients and prospective clients to educate, and to present the suite of TGI products and services.
  • Polish and improve client presentation materials, working collaboratively with the TGI management team.
  • Achieve approved revenue goals and targets as established in the strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the TGI management team to develop and execute the strategic plan.
  • Understand the insurance marketplace and client trends and keep the TGI management team apprised.
  • Travel as required to support business objectives.
Qualifications
  • Experience in lead generation, stages of sales, closing and procuring new business in B2B settings.
  • Strong, innovative sales and marketing skills plus the ability to market organizational strengths successfully.
  • 10+ years of experience and successful track record of business development or account management.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of creditor and group insurance is an asset.
  • Previous experience in the mortgage and/or auto financing sector is an asset.
  • Exceptional active listening skills and ability to discern prospective pain points and needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the projection of a professional image and style.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Thrives on a challenge and is willing to step out of comfort zone.
  • Post-secondary education with a business focus or equivalent industry experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.
  • Completion of insurance industry designations or licenses is an asset.
  • Bilingual is an asset.

*Position can be based in Edmonton or Toronto. All candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
