C$90,000 to C120,000 + Bonus + Full Benefits

Our company is seeking a Business Development Leader in Southwestern Ontario to drive profitable growth.

Reporting to the Regional Vice President, you will be responsible for expanding our market share by selling a suite of solutions and managing existing client relationships. This role involves developing an in-depth understanding of distributor business models and creating tailored business plans that align with market strategies.

Responsibilities :

  • Achieve sales targets by pursuing new and renewal accounts, collaborating with sales specialists and underwriters to close deals.
  • Engage with distributors to develop detailed profiles and strategic business plans.
  • Maintain comprehensive opportunity assessments with key distributors, identifying growth areas aligned with our insurance products.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships at various levels within distributor organizations.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings with distributors and internal teams based on opportunity needs.
  • Coordinate with Business Units to implement distributor business plans.
  • Review distributor performance periodically to ensure plan execution.
  • Qualify potential accounts to match company risk appetite.
  • Negotiate with underwriters to close deals with distributors.
  • Increase product density within existing accounts.
  • Foster internal collaboration across Business Units to present a unified market approach.
  • Serve as the primary contact for distributor issues related to service and business development.
  • Meet targets for sales calls, submissions, hit ratios, and overall production.
  • Implement and execute sales strategies and campaigns effectively.
  • Travel within Southwestern Ontario, including London, Hamilton, and Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge, focusing on in-person activities.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of experience in Sales or Underwriting
  • 7 or more years of experience in Sales or Underwriting
  • Leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Proven ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies
  • Strong relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of the Southwestern Ontario insurance market and underwriting practices
