Job summary

Strescon Limited, established in 1963, is Eastern Canada's largest precast and prestressed concrete manufacturer, serving the Atlantic Provinces, the New England region, and Bermuda.

The Business Development Associate will identify new opportunities, strengthen client relationships, and support proposal development with estimating, engineering, and operations teams to grow market presence in Nova Scotia and beyond.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma in a technology and/or Engineering degree would be an asset.
  • A business degree with a focus on sales will be considered with construction experience.
  • Experience, working knowledge of contract drawings
  • Experience, working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365

Responsibilities

  • Travel throughout Nova Scotia to maintain existing and develop new relationships with contractors, developers, and the design community
  • Assist in developing strategies for further development of sales with existing and potential clients ensuring sales targets set by the company are met
  • Provide technical leadership to customers helping them understand the benefits / advantages of using pre-cast concrete products
  • Act as liaison with customer and internal team to ensure a smooth transition from sales to project execution
  • Sales tracking and following potential projects through CRM software
  • Soliciting and developing relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Represent the Company at professional events
  • Help with electronic marketing campaigns through LinkedIn and other social media platforms
  • Additional duties as assigned

Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq. ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq. ft. In Bedford, Nova Scotia.

Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq. ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq. ft. In Bedford, Nova Scotia.

In addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.

Job Summary

The Business Development Associate supports Strescon’s growth strategy by identifying new business opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and supporting proposal and market development activities. This role works closely with senior leadership, estimating, engineering, and operations teams to help expand Strescon’s market presence and secure both public and private sector work.

The ideal candidate is commercially minded, relationship-focused, and comfortable navigating a technical construction environment.
