Overview

Insight Global is looking for a Business Data Analyst to join one of our largest banking clients in Toronto. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise and business acumen to support data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have experience working in commercial banking and will act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Project & Systems Support
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to capture and explain requirements clearly.
  • Write and manage test cases for system integration and user acceptance testing.
  • Participate in System Integration Testing (SIT) and liaison with business users to validate functionality.
  • Analyze data flows across applications and support reporting needs.
  • Apply SQL to extract and validate data for testing and analysis.
• Commercial Banking Domain
  • Support documentation and analysis of processes related to loan origination, adjudication, and commercial lending solutions.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure alignment between business needs and technical delivery.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of experience as a Data Analyst/Business Analyst
• Background in commercial banking
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries
• Ability to analyze data at both a system and process level
• Strong communication skills to ask the right business questions and interpret data-driven insights
• Understanding of technical components and system flows
• Exposure to Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
• Experience with Python and Excel
• Familiarity with Java front-end technologies
