We are seeking a Business Data Analyst for one of our clients to join their Data Delivery Enablement (DDE) team. The Business Data Analyst acts as a critical liaison between business needs and technical data solutions, transforming requirements into actionable data initiatives. This role champions data governance and solution governance, ensuring adherence to policies and alignment with the organization's data strategy, while influencing the prioritization of the Enterprise Data Operations Technology (EDOT) portfolio backlog to deliver business value. The Analyst facilitates collaboration between technical and business teams, ensuring data quality, security, and privacy throughout the data delivery lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze and translate business needs: Gather, document, and analyze data requirements, breaking down complex needs through data analysis and querying to identify business scenarios and source system discrepancies.
  • Enable solutions governance: Define requirements and technical specifications for data products and solutions, documenting business processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with technical teams: Work closely with the EDOT team to translate requirements into actionable tasks, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical implementation.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration: Engage with business stakeholders, management, SMEs, and team members to ensure clarity of solution governance artifacts and optimize data delivery.
  • Support data strategy: Contribute to the data strategy by aligning business needs, feasibility, and execution approaches to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Contribute to the portfolio backlog: Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and negotiate solution delivery, leading business prioritization of the backlog.
  • Enable Delivery Readiness: Highlight risks, dependencies, and timelines through feasibility analysis. Work with product owners to ensure business value delivery by managing risks and dependencies effectively.
  • Ensure compliance and alignment: Align data needs and designs with organizational information management policies to ensure compliance and standards.

Project Requirements

  • Support operational business demand incoming to EDOT
  • Support the maturation of DDE processes to better govern solutions and align work with business priorities
  • Support transformational data delivery across Customer Onboarding to Corporate Services
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field with at least 5 years of experience
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in domains such as Risk Management, Sales Operations, Finance, or Service Management
  • Strong understanding of Portfolio Management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and requirements management
