The Business Consultant develops and costs computing technology solutions for complex and diverse client/business needs such as hardware, software, personnel, communications and facilities and is responsible for procurement, budgeting, forecasting and all aspects of business case development.

Work involves complex and diverse client/business needs and management of large-scale projects with multiple functional and technical limits. The position makes a responsible contribution to decisions on all matters including policies, utilization and development. The position resolves all but the most complex situations independently. The position may lead teams or supervise staff involved in projects and ensures effective use of staff and integrates assignments with other activities.

As a knowledgeable leader, the Business Consultant makes a significant contribution to the customer in multiple areas and deals with senior customer management.

Responsibilities

  • Having responsibility for procurement, budgeting and forecasting all aspects of business case development.
  • Developing and costing computing technology solutions for client/business needs such as hardware/software, personnel, communications and facilities.
  • Coordinating the product and delivery requirement definition for current and future facilities.
  • Developing and implementing processes to measure and plan ISM’s capacity to deliver manpower and technology to ISM customers.
  • Analyzing and communicating new product opportunities presented through future technology announcements.
  • Preparing presentations related to current and future technologies to customers and ISM staff.
  • Assisting with the acquisition of strategic hardware/software platforms for ISM contracts.
  • Assessing customer needs for sales opportunities and researching ISM’s capabilities to meet identified needs.
  • Responding/preparing requests for proposal documentation.

Qualifications

  • University Degree, or diploma from a two year program in Computer Science/Data Processing or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training, plus 7-9 years knowledge of systems concepts.
  • In-depth knowledge of business methodologies; business process re-engineering; business issues analysis and related tools; and all aspects of ISMC’s business.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including a high degree of originality, ingenuity and initiative in devising new approaches and making use of new techniques, products and services.
  • Good interpersonal skills including a mature and professional attitude demonstrated to clients and employees.
  • Strong training, presentation and advisory skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, particularly in a team environment.
  • Strong organizing, planning and project management skills.
  • Skills and abilities acceptable to the client.
