Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and well-connected Business & Community Development Advisor to strengthen our presence across Ontario’s regional and rural communities. You’ll act as a key bridge between SwoopFiber and local governments, developers, business leaders, and community organizations, building relationships, sharing our mission, and advocating for improved broadband access in underserved areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with municipal and provincial officials, residential developments, local businesses, Chambers of Commerce, Business Improvement Areas (BIAs), and other organizations.
• Represent SwoopFiber at networking events, council meetings, public briefings, and regional roundtables
• Deliver compelling presentations tailored to local interests, showcasing the social and economic benefits of SwoopFiber’s services
• Monitor regional political trends and provide insights to inform strategic decisions
• Act as a trusted liaison for stakeholder inquiries, ensuring a collaborative and solution-focused approach

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in government relations, business development, public affairs, or political outreach
• Strong network of regional contacts across political, business, or agricultural sectors
• Excellent communication, public speaking, and storytelling skills
• Ability to navigate complex community dynamics and influence decision-makers
• Background in communications, public relations, or stakeholder engagement is preferred
• Willingness to travel for stakeholder meetings and regional events
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and community-first approach
