Junior Business Central Developer Analyst

Callow & Associates (www.callow.ca) is a Microsoft Dynamics consultancy located in Calgary, Alberta. We partner with our clients to improve their business processes by providing Microsoft Dynamics enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions to address their financial accounting, sales, purchasing, inventory, job costing, field service, and human resource management requirements. We also help our clients meet their budgeting and planning requirements by leveraging financial planning and analytics tools.

In this role, you will be instrumental in assisting with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation projects as well as supporting existing implementations. You will work as part of a team that is experiencing rapid growth and is at the forefront of new opportunities within our business. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Your responsibilities will include :

• Utilizing industry best-practices to design, code, and test Business Central (BC) enhancements (extensions), integrations, and custom reports;
• Automating processes within BC and related applications;
• Creating and maintaining clear and concise technical documentation, including code comments, system architecture diagrams, and user guides;
• Diagnosing and resolving software defects and issues, while providing timely support to end-users;
• Scoping projects and creating estimates for client software enhancements;
• Maintaining, updating, and testing existing application solutions;
• Learning unfamiliar features and functionality in BC;
• Educating colleagues and clients on BC capabilities;
• Logging your time, documenting your activities, and;
• Helping to develop internal processes and tools to improve support and solution delivery.

Professional experience and qualifications required :

• One to three years of experience in a business environment;
• University degree or diploma in computer science, information systems, business management, or an equivalent field;
• Familiarity with common business processes;
• Understanding of Microsoft Business Central architecture, development methodologies, and customization techniques;
• Knowledge of the Agile software development methodology;
• Technical writing skills; and
• Excellent written and verbal English language skills.

Experience in or understanding of the following areas is considered an asset :

• Knowledge of the Microsoft Business Central environment;
• Development experience in AL and / or C / AL languages for Dynamics BC / NAV;
• Experience with Power Automate and Power Platform;
• System integrations, and / or cloud technologies;
• Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, Microsoft Dynamics NAV;
• REST and ODATA APIs, Postman;
• Microsoft SQL Server object development; and
• Familiarity with SQL Server Report Builder.

• Strong aptitude to learn and apply new technologies; and
• Highly motivated self-starter.
