Business Banking Relationship Manager Trainee

Develop and manage relationships with small business clients to grow BMO’s market share. Utilize consultative sales and business development practices to identify opportunities and refer clients to colleagues as appropriate.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement sales strategies to attract new clients and expand existing relationships.
  2. Build networks and referral sources for ongoing growth.
  3. Generate appointments and opportunities through targeted sales efforts.
  4. Maintain a business plan with relationship management strategies to achieve retention goals.
  5. Identify prospective customers and cross-sell products/services.
  6. Build client rapport, credibility, and trust.
  7. Understand local market dynamics and develop relationships with key influencers.
  8. Provide exceptional customer service and expert advice.
  9. Develop long-term profitable relationships within the portfolio.
  10. Respond to inquiries and provide information on banking products and services.
  11. Understand customer needs and offer tailored financial solutions.
  12. Address issues promptly and escalate when necessary.
  13. Develop solutions aligned with business strategies and stakeholder needs.
  14. Contribute to operational planning and execution.
  15. Ensure compliance with data governance and security procedures.
  16. Participate in change management activities and support operational programs.
  17. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
  18. Identify risks and document regulatory compliance measures.
  19. Work independently on complex tasks, with broader responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Typically 4-6 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree or equivalent.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and understanding of creditworthiness assessments.
  • Knowledge of business banking products, lending, and policies.
  • Experience in sales and customer service.
  • Proficiency in relevant technical tools.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and influence skills.
  • Data-driven decision-making ability.
Salary:

$54,500 - $101,500, salaried, with potential bonuses and benefits.
