Position Summary:

The Business Architect will work to ensure the growth of Charter's Business Architecture Practice. This senior-level role will be responsible for Charter client business transformation and overseeing critical deliverables such as business capability models, business capabilities, and value streams. This position will work with clients to bridge the gap between technology and business at a foundational level.

Responsibilities:

  1. Business Execution:
    • Participate with the executive team and Charter Principal Business Architect to build the Business Architecture Practice, including defining and evaluating new strategies, deliverables, and the creation of a partner ecosystem.
    • Present recommendations and solutions clearly and concisely, focusing on key points to portray the intended message.
    • In conjunction with the Principal Business Architect, lead and participate in the development of sales training insights.
    • Lead, build, manage, and enhance the business capability model along the maturity/optimization framework to drive enablement of the longer-term roadmap.
    • Continual development of Business Templates and Best Practices, along with internal and external communications.
  2. Position Delivery:
    • Contribute to the development of content creation for case studies, blogs, whitepapers, and social media content.
    • Effectively manage priorities, deliverables, and timelines with minimal need for escalation.
    • Drive and facilitate discussions with client business leaders to identify business capabilities in relation to current and future business objectives.
    • Partner with Charter clients in the strategic planning process by providing input to the scope definition of strategic initiatives leveraging capabilities, creating capability roadmaps to provide visibility to impacts, dependencies, overlaps, and opportunities.
  3. Team Engagement:
    • Work closely with the Service Delivery team and solution/technical architects to deliver business architecture guidance and strategy needed for End-to-End Architecture & Solution Architecture Approach deliverables.
    • Collaborate with Charter team members participating in the Business Architect Program.
    • Lead and/or participate in additional training and Business Practice insights and new developments as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Key competencies:
    • Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities.

    • Proven experience and ability to facilitate group workshops.

  2. Functional and industry-focused:
    • A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices for business, business architecture, business strategy, technology, and IT trends.
    • Experience using model-based representations to collect, aggregate, or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business.
    • Extensive experience planning and deploying both business and IT/OT initiatives.
    • Experience modeling business processes using various tools and techniques.
    • Knowledge of data management and data architecture.
    • Ability to analyze financial reports.
    • The ability to act as a liaison conveying information needs of the business to IT/OT and data constraints to the business.
  3. Certifications and frameworks:
    • TOGAF Architecture Certified with a demonstrable body of work that delivered measurable business value.
    • Design Thinking Certificate is an asset.
    • Knowledge of Healthcare industry needs and Industry 4.0.
    • Knowledge of Operational Technologies (OT), ISA 95 Standards, Purdue Reference Model for CIM.
    • Knowledge of other frameworks such as ITIL, PMBOK, COBIT, ISA 62443, NIST security and privacy standards and principles is an asset.
