Effectively establish and coordinate technical business activities to align with the goals of the Global Finance and Risk Technology (GFRT) organization within Scotiabank. Responsible for overseeing project completion and enhancements by business product owners within set timeframes and budgets.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Procurement Technology, the main function of the Business Application Specialist is to estimate, analyze, design, document, test, and support system solutions for Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) for Global Procurement Services (GPS). This role supports project execution and system enhancements, following SDLC frameworks, testing, change management standards, and best practices. The individual will work closely with stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and manage relationships effectively.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Analyzing and estimating complex business requirements and change requests.
- Producing requirements documentation, conducting reviews, and analyzing requirements with the business.
- Designing technical specifications, configurations, and integrations for complex processes and workflows.
- Engaging with stakeholders and vendors to ensure system efficiency and functionality.
- Applying industry best practices in estimating, designing, testing, and implementing solutions.
- Ensuring quality, security, and compliance standards are met.
- Coordinating system design, development, and testing activities.
- Documenting configuration components and integrations.
- Facilitating system integration and working with Enterprise Architecture teams for consistency.
- Presenting technical and architectural solutions to stakeholders and vendors.
- Identifying strategic opportunities for cross-functional improvements.
- Documenting business processes, data models, and application interfaces.
- Creating onboarding and operational documentation.
- Providing status updates to stakeholders and managing access/licensing requests.
- Maintaining application compliance with bank and regulatory standards.
- Managing outage communications, root cause analysis, and incident support.
- Responding to audit requests and reporting findings.
- Monitoring key risk indicators for application performance and compliance.
- Supporting incident triage and resolution as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- 2-3 years of technical business analysis and systems experience.
- CBAP certification or equivalent experience is a plus.
- Experience with procurement, TPRM, P2P, or related industries.
- Proficiency in system design, development, and integration, especially cloud solutions.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in finance.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a strong asset.
