Status : FT Admin Temporary, until December 2025

Faculty / Department : Information Technology Services

Campus / Location : North Campus; Hybrid model (a mix of home and in-office workdays)

Salary : $95,910.00; starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience.

About the Business Analyst- UX / UI Designer Role :

To support continued platform development and site migration, the DXP team is seeking a Business Analyst - UI / UX Designer. This position will play a vital role in supporting the DXP solution by supporting the overall conceptual design, look and feel of Humber web site properties.

Responsibilities of the role include :

  • Responsible for the user experience (UX) design of Humber web sites and the optimization of interactions between the target audience, the product / service, and the channel used to access this product / service.
  • Support the overall design of user experiences to deliver business goals, including interactions, interfaces and overall solution and process flow.
  • Lead workshops and one-on-one sessions with both business and technical staff to elicit and document requirements, identify desired user experiences and review and provide feedback on prototypes and creative composites.
  • Facilitate the exploration and definition of personas and user journeys in order to support and understand optimal experiences and interactions.
  • Design, develop and validate workflows and prototypes to ensure optimal solution design.
  • Design and support the development of appropriate user interfaces that are optimized for effective usability and interaction.
  • Maintain web accessibility standards and incorporate specific design elements to meet these requirements.
  • Conceive, design and maintain site maps, wireframes, prototypes, style guides, user flows to support the defined interactions and journeys.
  • Strong consulting expertise and the ability to independently identify, investigate and recommend appropriate approaches and strategies.

About You :

You are passionate about working at Ontario's largest Polytechnic; you thrive on improving productivity and quality that contribute to team success!

Education

  • A degree in a Business, Marketing, Graphic Design or related discipline.

Experience / Skills

  • At least five years of hands-on experience in a variety of projects across different platforms.
  • A minimum of three years of progressive experience in designing, developing and optimizing user experiences and user interfaces for web content.
  • Deep expertise in the identification and development of personas and user journeys and the design of meaningful and optimal user experiences.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing effective experiences and interactions in support of large, complex enterprise solutions.
  • Extensive experience creating wireframes, prototypes, creative composites, storyboards, user flows, etc.
  • Experience with design tools such as Figma, Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, InVision, UXPin, Quartz.
  • Experience in designing sites hosted on leading DXP / CMS systems.
  • Experience with designing and developing sites for Drupal 10, Drupal multisite and Acquia Site Studio is highly desirable.
  • Superior oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent active listening skills.
  • Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience working in an agile mode of operations.
  • Experience managing work in Microsoft Azure DevOps.
  • Higher education or public sector experience is highly desirable.
