Job summary

A leading tech consultancy in Toronto is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to collaborate with business stakeholders in documenting requirements for new initiatives and system integrations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analysis within financial services and the ability to effectively communicate with non-technical stakeholders. This role involves facilitating workshops, supporting solution design, and contributing to change management activities.

Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years of business analysis experience, preferably in financial services, investment, or asset management.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and project management best practices.
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment.

Business Analyst - Toronto (3 days onsite)

Partner with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements for new initiatives, enhancements, and system integrations. Translate business needs into clear functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions to identify gaps, opportunities, and risks. Support solution design by working with architects, developers, and QA teams to ensure requirements are accurately implemented. Assist in developing test plans, executing test cases, and validating deliverables against business objectives. Contribute to change management activities including training, user guides, and stakeholder communication. Monitor post-implementation performance and identify areas for continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or professional certifications (CBAP, PMP, Scrum) are assets.
  • 8-10+ years of business analysis experience, preferably within financial services, investments, or asset management.
  • Strong knowledge of business analysis frameworks, requirements gathering, and process mapping.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and project management best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Power BI, or equivalent.
