Job summary

Mariner is seeking an experienced Business Analyst for an onsite Halifax engagement to understand requirements, analyze business needs, and support solution delivery within a controlled goods environment.

The successful candidate will navigate complex projects, facilitate effective communication, and uphold security and confidentiality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in business, computer science, or a related field.
  • Progressive experience as an IT Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, or in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience with requirements analysis, stakeholder facilitation, gap analysis, and process mapping.
  • Experience working within a formal systems development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements documentation, use cases, testing, and requirements traceability.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to build consensus across business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to meet any security screening and Controlled Goods Program requirements associated with the role.
  • Ability to work onsite in Halifax is required.
  • CBAP certification or willingness to obtain it is considered an asset.
  • Experience in a client-facing consulting environment and/or public sector is considered an asset.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our team for an onsite engagement in Halifax. In this role, you will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, analyze business needs, and support the delivery of solutions within a controlled goods environment.

The successful candidate will be comfortable navigating complex projects, facilitating effective communication, and operating in an environment where security, confidentiality, and adherence to established processes are essential.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:
  • Gathering, analyzing, documenting, and validating business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
  • Facilitating stakeholder workshops and interviews to identify business needs, gaps, and opportunities for process and systems improvement.

WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:

  • Demonstrated experience with requirements analysis, stakeholder facilitation, gap analysis, and process mapping and design.
