What You’ll Be Doing

The Data Enablement team works on the development and implementation of data enablement strategies to build an effective support framework to accelerate data driven insights, including processes and best practice documentation. As a Business Analyst Co-op on this team you will you will partner with various data intensive projects as well as key business stakeholder and assist with developing monitoring algorithms, implementing new strategies, and continuous improvement to existing strategies. This role will require developing and maintaining automation, tool enablement and robust data strategies.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

  • We may ask you to complete an attribute-based assessment and other skills tests (such as simulation, coding, French proficiency, MS Office). Our goal for the application process is to get to know more about you, all that you have to offer, and give you the opportunity to learn more about us.
  • You must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education and returning to full-time studies to be eligible. However, you do not need to be in a registered Co-Op program to be considered for a role.
  • Recruitment timeline: Applications review – May; Interviews – May/ June; Offers – June/ July
  • Please include your resume (no more than 2 pages), a cover letter (no more than 1 page), and your most recent unofficial transcript with your application. These should all be uploaded into the Resume section of the application as one pdf document
  • This is an 8 month co-op opportunity.

How You Will Succeed

  • Analytics and Reporting - Produce reports and analytics on various topics, assignments, projects, or simplify day to day business operations and assist with data and analytics enablement.
  • Knowledge of Technology – You will leverage scripting and automation for continuous improvements and enhancements.
  • Communication Skills - Excellent verbal and writing skills to effectively articulate ideas and opinions that involve analysis, interpretation, and assessment.
  • Relationship Management- Focus on building strong relationships with internal and external clients. Work collaboratively with teams across the bank to understand their data and analytical needs. Work with the teams to identify their data and analytical needs and provide appropriate support and recommendations.
