Pay Rate: $40 Location: Toronto ON Job Type: Contract Our client, a top banking client in Canada is looking to hireBusiness Analyst (Capital markets operations) x 2 positionsfor their team with a contract for12 Months. Hybrid - 4th Thursday of month and then potentially an additional day in Toronto Office.


Job Description:
What You'll Be Doing

Accountable for processing the setup, maintenance and pricing of securities compliant to policies and procedures. Analyst will perform daily activities across multiple applications with accuracy adhering to strict deadlines and changing volumes. Research, gather data, analyze, lead and/or support as required on projects to identify operational impacts and recommend process improvements to management. Incumbent may assume a level of responsibility participating in meetings and answering questions as the Subject Matter Expert and communicate status of investigations to team, business partners and clients.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Processing scheduled and ad hoc requests related to Security set up, maintenance and pricing across multiple applications
  • Adhering to CID Operations Management procedures and updating documents to capture process changes as required
  • Respond to email inquiries or requests from internal clients on changes or questions regarding pricing and security set up.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with designated clients, peers, and other business partners to enable ongoing discussion and communication around data integrity issues.
  • Participate in the development, maintenance and implementation of new policies, methodologies, and standards to improve the quality of the department and ensure compliance with established policies, standards, and methodologies (e.g., security and privacy policies)
  • Assist in implementing process enhancements and in identifying and implementing process controls.
  • Cross train in other positions to assist and provide support to other team members/area(s) of equal value in peak times or on a temporary basis to ensure Service Level Agreements are met.
  • Prioritize and organize workload to ensure deadlines are met and diarized items are processed according to policies and procedures.

How You'll Succeed
  • Analytical and Process Improvement Mindset- You have a background in understanding operational processes, ideally related to security data. You also have a continuous improvement mindset and proven record of adding value by finding efficiencies in current processes and procedures, consequently enhancing the performance of operations teams by actively/proactively participating in project activities.
  • Business Analysis and Operations - You have experience with requirements gathering, designing or modifying processes, managing the change and implementation as well as working with a wide variety of business partners. You will be part of organizing and leading the implementation of operational changes. To be successful, it may be of value if you have an operational processing background to have a good understanding of alternate channel processes, systems and applications.
  • Relationship Builder with Strong Communication Skills - You are proud of your excellent verbal and written communication skills and how you excel at developing relationships with internal and external business partners. You are not afraid to develop and recommend client focused solutions to routine and non-routine operational problems. You welcome the opportunity to represent your area of specialization and provide input into the development and implementation of projects.

Must haves:
  • 1+ years of BA experience (preferably within Banking Operations)
  • Strong MS Office (Excel and VBA Macros)

Nice to have:
  • Previous banking operations experience
  • Process automation
  • Trading or security in general

Soft Skills
