Job description

Our client, a Top 5 Bank in Canada, is seeking a Business Analyst to join their team for a 6-month contract with a high possibility of extension. This role is located in Toronto, and follows a hybrid work schedule of 1-2 days per week onsite.

Responsibilities Include :

• Utilize knowledge of front office trading activities to evaluate electronic surveillance system alerts, ensuring their relevance within the market context.
• Engage in discussions with both the vendor and project team to validate the system's outputs.
• Perform ongoing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across various products, providing feedback on problems, issues, and potential enhancements in a collaborative team environment.
• Acquire expertise in operating the Surveillance system, relevant source systems, and other necessary tools for functional evaluations.
• Collaborate with the BAU (Business As Usual) team to share observations and insights derived from UAT testing.

Must-Have Skills :

• Possess 5+ years of experience in foreign exchange, fixed income, commodities, and / or OTC derivatives trading markets, including familiarity with hedging and trading strategies.
• Demonstrate 8+ years of related trading or surveillance experience at a financial institution or regulated securities dealer.
• Showcase 2+ years of regulatory and compliance experience.
• Exhibit previous experience in identifying external market activity, news, and factors influencing trading activities.
• Have at least 5 years of experience in building testing strategies and executing UAT.

Nice-to-Have Skills :

• Completion of the Canadian Securities Course, Conduct and Practices Handbook Course, and / or the Trader Training Course is beneficial.
• Possess an understanding of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) dealer rules.
