A leading company in Burnaby is seeking a Business Analyst 2 to enhance its IT Strategy & Architecture. The role involves analyzing and implementing business processes, defining requirements, and ensuring compliance with security policies. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in computer science and substantial experience in systems analysis, with strong knowledge of SaaS and COTS products.
This position works in the IT Strategy & Architecture organizational unit. This role will analyze business processes, lead project implementations, and define requirements & business cases to support Property, Engineering and Development (PEDA) applications, primarily supporting Infor IPS platform and IPS integration with other systems. The incumbent will perform a number of activities supporting the sustainment of applications such as leading user departments in adopting business process change; sharing best practices, conducting gap and capabilities analyses, preparing documents & records on business processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), delivering training and ensure data integrity and compliance with security policies. Additionally, the role supports the Manager of GIS and Smart City Initiatives with contract negotiation and renewal processes and ensure asset data consistency, spatial accuracy and effective system integration to support operation workflows. An incumbent exercises considerable independent judgement and action in performing the systems maintenance tasks and refers more complex problems to a supervisor who evaluates work performance in terms of effective services rendered. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include completion of a university degree at the Bachelor’s level in computer science or a related discipline and sound related experience in systems analysis, or, an equivalent combination of training and experience. The successful candidate will have considerable knowledge of information technology components, process and developments such as implementing SaaS and COTS products in a hybrid of digital & data initiatives and; working knowledge of the functions of departments served and their requirements as applied to information technology such as GIS and Infor or similar asset management systems; and working knowledge of problem definition and analysis related to business processes and systems planning using Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies. Furthermore, the Business Analyst 2 will have the ability to analyze and evaluate various data and information, develop logical solutions for assigned problems and assess the implications of proposed changes; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts.
