What You Will Do

Reporting to the Department Head, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating and conducting special projects pertaining to the department systems, methods, procedures and organization. The incumbent provides leadership, supervises, and plans the work of Technology Administrators and Transitional Workers for the department. The position will be responsible for developing, managing, tracking and monitoring the departmental Work Plan. The incumbent is required to define and review business processes, as well as determine methods for streamlining work while maintaining or enhancing the information provided to other departments/customers. Additionally, this position is responsible for setting up access to and ensuring parameter tables are updated in department systems. The incumbent coordinates the special projects process from initiation to closeout (i.e. from initial studies through to documentation and implementation). This may involve working independently or as part of an internal implementation team, as well as with outside consultants and suppliers. Demonstrates behaviours that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment and helps to remove barriers and accommodate employees and customers (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with TTC’s commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC’s policies. What Qualifications Do You Bring?

  • Completion of a University degree or College Diploma in a relevant discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business analysis, systems analysis and database design concepts and practices as applied to various systems.
  • Good understanding of project management concepts and practices.
  • Knowledge of end user support functions and data security/audit principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of current office automation technology, PC hardware/software and relevant application.
  • Ability to plan, conduct and coordinate projects associated with the development, implementation and maintenance of information systems.
  • Sound knowledge of Business administration and applicable government legislation.
  • Experience in system administration of technology applications.
  • Skilled in conducting and documenting feasibility studies to evaluate and recommend system enhancements or new technologies.
  • Strong coordination skills to implement recommendations from audits, reviews or performance evaluations.
  • Experienced in SharePoint, Power BI, SQL and Visio, supporting documentation collaboration, analytics and workflow visualization.
  • Experience with change management and supporting teams through system and process transitions.
