Reporting to the Supervisor, Financial Integrity and Controls, this individual will be a key member of the Financial Integrity and Controls team in supporting the projects and initiatives that impact the balance sheet functions.

The individual will have a unique opportunity to learn various aspects of several Canada Segment Business units as they report through a shared services team, through supporting the Senior Project Business Analyst in various initiatives across the Operational and Finance teams.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the successful completion of projects & initiatives which impact Financial Integrity and Control functions.
  • Support and execute balance sheet testing.
  • Update balance sheet documentation with changes in accounting models and process changes impacting reconciliation.
  • Have a curious mindset- ask questions, to understand the current balance sheet process and how it relates to the project.
  • Have a risk focus mindset, bring forward risks to the senior project lead to ensure resolution is found before implementation of a project.
  • Represent Financial Integrity and Controls as SME in project meetings and testing reviews.
  • Have a strong sense of accountability and fully own all aspects of your project/ task (follow-ups, approaching deadlines, issue resolutions)
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in Mainframe, AWD, MS Access, SQL data server, and Power BI would be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years in operations, finance or accounting, ideally with some experience on projects or balance sheet management.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to design, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amount of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Innovative thinker with the ability to influence and challenge the status quo to continuously improve processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability.
  • Flexible and change-oriented attitude that embraces new ideas and ways of working.
  • Motivated self-starter, with ability to multi-task and manage priorities effectively.
  • A team player who can react positively to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity or knowledge of agile, project management processes, process improvement methodologies and tools would be a key asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent work experience is preferred.

Primary Location: Waterloo, Ontario

Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Salary range is expected to be between: $50,700.00 CAD - $84,500.00 CAD
