We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst with a strong background in software development and a strong ability to bridge the gap between internal and external business and technology teams. The ideal candidate will analyze, document, and optimize business processes, ensuring technology solutions align with business needs. This role requires exceptional communication skills, a structured approach to problem-solving, and the ability to leverage data-driven insights to drive decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between business and technology teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on requirements and objectives.
- Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements by collaborating with stakeholders, system owners, and end users.
- Map current (as-is) and future (to-be) business processes to identify gaps and opportunities for process improvement, ensuring the project scope is well-defined and understood by all impacted stakeholders/business lines.
- Engage in the full project lifecycle, from initial discovery and requirements gathering to User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring that solutions meet business needs and function as intended before deployment.
- Create and maintain key business analysis project artifacts, including Business Requirements Document (BRD), user stories, process flow diagrams, project plans, and test cases.
- Conduct workflow analysis and gap assessments to identify inefficiencies and recommend optimization strategies.
- Use business analysis tools, techniques, and frameworks to systematically analyze business challenges and improve operations.
- Support software design, development, and implementation efforts, ensuring system changes and upgrades meet business objectives.
- Partner with the Business Intelligence (BI) team to leverage data insight and support decision-making.
- Ensure effective and professional communication with stakeholders at all levels, both written and verbal.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
- Experience in mortgage loan services with Canadian lenders is an asset but not mandatory.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst in software development. Proven experience working directly with software development teams in Agile and Waterfall environments.
- Strong ability to bridge business and technology teams, ensuring alignment on project goals and requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience across the full project lifecycle, from discovery to User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring solutions meet business needs. Ability to create and maintain business analysis artifacts, including BRDs, user stories, diagrams, test cases, tracking test results, and project plans. Expertise in mapping as-is and to-be business processes, ensuring project scope is well-defined.
- Experience with tools and techniques such as BPM, SWOT analysis, root cause analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong project management and documentation skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Fluency in French (oral and written) is considered an asset.
- Experience in mortgage loan services with Canadian lenders is an asset.
