Job summary

A leading technology firm in Toronto is looking for a Business Analyst to lead requirements elicitation sessions, create functional specifications, and perform data analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with REST APIs and JSON. You'll develop system documentation and collaborate in Agile environments. Responsibilities

• Lead requirements elicitation sessions with stakeholders.
• Create and manage functional/non-functional requirements in JIRA.
• Perform data analysis, mapping, and modeling.
• Work with HOST/Mainframe systems to analyze data flows.
• Analyze and leverage existing APIs and Microservices.
• Develop system documentation including context and sequence diagrams.
• Collaborate in Agile/PDLC environments.

Job description

• Lead requirements elicitation sessions with stakeholders and translate business needs into detailed system requirements and user stories.
• Create and manage functional/non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in JIRA.
• Perform data analysis, mapping, and modeling, including writing and executing SQL queries.
• Work with HOST/Mainframe systems (screens, transactions, copybooks, datasets) to analyze and document data flows.
• Analyze and leverage existing APIs and Microservices, including:
  • Reviewing API specifications
  • Initiating REST API requests
  • Interpreting JSON responses
  • Using tools such as Postman
  • Support API enhancements and new microservices implementations.
• Develop system documentation including:
  • System Context Diagrams
  • Sequence/Flow Diagrams
  • Use Case Documentation
• Collaborate in Agile/PDLC environments and contribute to sprint ceremonies.
• Maintain documentation in Confluence and create process/technical diagrams using Visio.
