CPA Ontario is currently in search of a Business Analyst who will be responsible for actively engaging with business users, IT, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify, capture, and recommend improvements to business requirements, process workflows, and other specifications to create or improve the services, products, and technologies used. In this role, you will also analyze and interpret data, reengineer business processes, support the development of strategies, and provide insights to help the organization make informed decisions.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Facilitating sessions with stakeholders to document detailed business analysis, outlining issues, opportunities, and possible solutions.
2. Developing end-to-end process maps highlighting the stakeholders’ interactions to identify business capabilities, functions executed, systems and applications used, and data involved.
3. Documenting solution features, specifications, KPIs/metrics and reporting requirements utilizing user stories, use cases, current and future state process flows, data maps, data dictionaries, requirement traceability matrix, wireframes, etc.
4. Leading the scrum team and assisting in sprint planning by actively mitigating or removing roadblocks and monitoring the developed solutions for alignment with initiative objectives at all stages.
5. Managing requirements backlog for iterative agile delivery, refining and reprioritizing product backlog items to accommodate urgent business needs, shifting priority and resource fluctuation; assessing change requests and impacts; negotiating trade-offs with other teams.
6. Developing test plans, test cases, and supporting testing activities, providing a holistic view of test strategy and test data, reviewing test results, and removing any roadblocks.
7. Serving as a solution ambassador by collaborating with cross-functional teams for solution implementation, integration, and supporting organizational change management activities.

Who You Are

1. A post-secondary graduate in Business, Computer Science, or other related discipline along with agile and scrum certifications. Lean or Six Sigma Certification is considered an asset.
2. An IIBA certified professional with a minimum of 5 years progressive experience in business analysis or product management positions with a strong focus on information technology projects.
3. Extremely well-versed in business analysis, business process management, quality assurance, project delivery practices, and standards across the project lifecycle.
4. Experienced with Jira and software solution lifecycle methodology including agile and waterfall development; ITIL certification is considered an asset.
5. A skilled presenter with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and able to deliver proposals, gather business requirements and contribute perspective to support the stakeholder decision-making process.
6. An outstanding communicator – both written and verbal - with well-developed influencing skills to drive dialogue with business partners while also understanding their underlying needs and requirements while managing their expectations.
