PLATO is Canada's only Indigenous-led, Indigenous-staffed software testing services firm. We are committed to building strong communities by training and employing members of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit communities across the country. Our goal is to build a network of 1000 Indigenous software testers across Canada. PLATO has offices on or near Indigenous communities in Fredericton, Sault Ste Marie, Ottawa/Gatineau, Regina, Prince Albert, Calgary, and Vancouver.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. The Business Analyst will analyze and define IT requirements, ensuring that technology solutions meet business needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work occasionally on-site with clients in Regina, depending on project needs. Candidates must be within a commutable distance of Regina.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into technical requirements.
2. Conduct detailed analysis of current systems, processes, and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
3. Develop functional specifications (FRD), user stories & personas, process maps, and Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) for IT projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
4. Facilitate meetings and workshops with business stakeholders and IT teams to gather and prioritize requirements.
5. Work closely with development and QA teams to ensure accurate and timely implementation of solutions.
6. Perform gap analysis and provide post-implementation support.
7. Support project managers in project planning, monitoring progress, and ensuring delivery within scope and timelines.
8. Assist in user acceptance testing and coordinate rollout of new systems and enhancements.
9. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
2. Proven experience (5+) as Business Analyst or similar role in client projects in technology.
3. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
6. Experience with business process modeling tools and techniques.
7. Experience working with government is preferred.
8. Excellent client-facing communication skills, both verbal and written.
9. Familiarity with enterprise software solutions and IT infrastructure.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Jira, Trello, Miro, DevOps, etc.
12. Relevant certifications like CBAP, PMI-PBA are preferred.
13. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop positive stakeholder relationships.
14. Highly organized, adaptable to change, and committed to continuous learning.
15. Willingness to coach and mentor team members.

Additional Requirements

1. Must be within a commutable distance to Saskatoon or Regina, as occasional on-site work is required.
2. Flexibility to travel to client sites as needed, with varying frequency based on project requirements.
