Job summary

Beem Credit Union in Fort St. John or Prince George is seeking a Business Advisor to manage a portfolio of small business members, delivering tailored solutions across deposits, credit, insurance and financial services. This role focuses on growth, financial wellness, and leveraging digital-first solutions.

You will develop new opportunities, represent Beem at events, and collaborate with Consumer, Commercial, Wealth, and Insurance teams to maximize cross-referrals and support member success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred.
• 7-10 years in the financial services industry, with 5-7 years in small business or commercial portfolio management.
• Solid understanding of financial accounting, credit underwriting, and risk assessment.
• Certificate in Small Business Advisory or CCP designation is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage relationships with an assigned portfolio of business members, delivering tailored advice and solutions.
• Conduct discovery meetings to identify short-term and long-term business goals, challenges, and opportunities.
• Promote financial wellness through product and service integration, including deposits, credit, insurance, and investments.
• Develop new business opportunities through networking, community engagement, and outreach.
• Represent Beem at business organizations and events to generate leads.
• Leverage CRM tools and digital channels to identify opportunities and enhance member experience.
• Manage all aspects of the assigned business credit portfolio, including underwriting, monitoring, and compliance.
• Perform annual credit reviews and ensure account conduct aligns with Beem’s standards.
• Assist members with cash flow management, financial planning, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Partner with internal teams across Consumer, Commercial, Wealth, and Insurance to maximize cross-referrals.
• Provide guidance and coaching to Business Specialists and other team members.
• Participate in branch sales meetings and support business unit goals through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Represents Beem in the community to build brand presence and generate business opportunities.
• Maintains awareness of market trends and competitive activities to inform strategy and client solutions.

Education

The Business Advisor serves as a trusted partner to business members, providing tailored solutions to help them grow and succeed. This role focuses on acquiring, maintaining, and growing valued relationships within an assigned portfolio of Small Business members. Working collaboratively across consumer banking, commercial, wealth, and insurance, the Business Advisor delivers comprehensive support across deposit, credit, and financial services, promoting financial wellness and leveraging digital-first solutions.

This position can be based out of Prince George or Fort St. John.

What you’ll do:

What you’ll bring:
