Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in truck driving with a valid Class 1 license.
  • Trained in defensive driving and knowledgeable about the Highway Traffic Act.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Ensure product is delivered accurately to customers.
  • Ensure assigned unit is in safe working condition by completing a daily pre-trip/post-trip inspection, arranging for all repairs to be made with reports completed and submitted to the supervisor.
  • Ensure all safety rules and regulations, both government and corporate, are followed. Compliance with customer rules is mandatory providing they are not in contravention of Brenntag Canada Inc policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of the following workday’s delivery schedule allowing for proper weight distribution, customer requirements, special instructions and the most economical route.
  • Ensure documents comply with legal requirements before transporting and ensure all packages are in compliance before delivery.
  • Assist in training and support of all employees in training.
  • Focus on the immediate task at hand to ensure that job is done safely and correctly.
  • Anticipate changes that could affect your safety or others and how to react to them.
  • Pre-plan work and look for potential hazards, missing safeguards and risk reduction opportunities.
  • Acknowledge and describe at-risk practices or shortcuts to the person who performed them (regardless of department).
YOUR PROFILE

Education and Experience:

  • Requires a driver's license and air brake endorsement relating to the equipment being operated.
  • Holds valid Class 1 license.
  • No criminal record.
  • Post-Secondary Education.
  • Trained in defensive driving.
  • 3 years of experience.
  • Must have a good understanding of the Highway Traffic Act as it reflects on truck driving.
