Job description

Overview

Element is looking for a Building Systems Test Technician to conduct various building envelope performance evaluations to well defined standards and/or operating procedures. This position involves sample preparation, general construction, physical testing, equipment maintenance and client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates testing of medium of large-scale building envelope test assemblies.• Supports construction / fabrication of building envelope assemblies.• Knowledge of test requirements as per relevant standards and specifications.• Evaluates building envelope assemblies in accordance with recognized standards• Involvement in sample preparation, test setup, data collection & analysis and report preparation• Participates in client correspondence and project coordination.• Coordinates material procurement and maintains equipment• Maintains equipment calibrations

Skills / Qualifications

• 2-year college technology program or trades experience.• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team• Basic understanding of engineering concepts and mechanically inclined.• Strong verbal and written communication skills• Computer proficiency (MS Office)• Conducts safe material handling per Element guidelines.• Experience with forklift and crane operation.• Experience with common construction power tools.
