Job summary

The University of British Columbia is seeking a Building Services Worker to sweep, mop, wax floors, operate vacuums, empty waste, move heavy items, and disinfect bathrooms in a school or educational setting. Education required: Secondary school graduation or equivalent; building service worker course preferred.

Work is on site in Vancouver, with Day/Evening/Night shifts; salary is negotiable under the collective agreement.

  • Experience in school or educational facilities is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs.
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse.
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
