As a Building Services Technician at CrossIron Mills, you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of building systems and services in commercial and industrial properties. You will ensure that the facilities are running efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulations.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Ensure proper functioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and personal safety systems.

  • Respond to tenant service requests through the PRISM platform.

  • Perform general maintenance tasks as needed.

  • Monitor contracted work and report anomalies.

  • Ensure compliance with building standards.

  • Inspect the building from all operational angles (interior and exterior) and ensure corrections and maintenance are properly executed.

  • Perform door hardware maintenance, plastering, painting, ceiling/floor title work, and other base building repairs.

  • Ensure order and cleanliness in maintenance area.

  • Regularly inspect security systems (alarm system emergency lights, fire extinguishers, sprinklers.

  • Update the Risk system and validate data with the Operation Manager

  • Participate in operational and OHS meetings.

  • Conduct OHS rounds and make necessary corrections.

  • Manage key system and access system.

  • Oversee minor repairs and maintenance for the centre’s lighting, electrical and plumbing fixtures; Execute variable minor repairs on site.

  • Work closely with management and operations teams.

  • Perform any other related tasks/duties related to the position.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Vocational diploma (DVS) in general building maintenance or college diploma (DCS) in building system engineering technology, or the equivalent.

  • Experience in building maintenance..

  • Resourcefulness, sense of initiative, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and resolve problems independently.

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

  • Team player with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Computer knowledge (Microsoft Office suite).

  • Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in building management and lighting control systems.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

  • Majority of time spent standing or walking; frequent movement.

  • Familiarity with various Microsoft Office Suite software.

  • Frequently lift and carry equipment and tools.

  • Need to be available on rotation for evening and weekend emergency calls.

  • Having a personal car will considered an asset for easy travel between portfolio properties (milage reimbursed).
