About working at PARC
PARC communities are made for active seniors; inspiring spaces where our residents come to live well and engage with a vibrant community of like-minded people. Each of our residences is purpose-designed to give residents the freedom to live independently, nurturing theirphysical and mental well-being.

As Building Services Supervisor, you are a caretaker of this vision, responsible for overall building maintenance – including the upkeep and appearance of our property. This includes:

  • Performing and logging building maintenance, such as cleaning, painting, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and snow-removal work.
  • Triaging maintenance and work orders in a timely and professional manner using an in-house software system.
  • Responding to building emergencies, including floods and equipment breakdowns.
  • Managing and procuring maintenance supplies and trades.
  • Conducting suite inspections and moving furniture as needed, along with repair work, carpet cleaning, painting and other in-suite tasks.
  • Fiscal responsibility – operate within established annual maintenance budgets, energy optimization and other corporate initiatives.
The perks of PARC Hospitality
  • Meaningful work. How many hospitality jobs can say that? At PARC, you’ll be making a positive difference in seniors’ lives, each and every day.
  • Refreshments while you work. PARC’s chef-prepared cuisine rivals the best in BC, and we offer subsidized daily meals and beverages to employees.
  • Flexible hours and location. We’re open to scheduling when and where it works for you – with guaranteed shifts every week. PARC has five great locations across the Lower Mainland.
  • A supportive, diverse team and training opportunities. We believe in giving our people opportunities to advance wherever we can.
  • High-value benefits. We offer Extended Health, Vision, Dental, Life, AD&D and Disability Insurance, plus an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), to help protect your health, family and way of life. Plus: birthdays off with pay, parental top-ups and much more!
It takes a special kind of person to work here – does this sound like you?
  • You’re a respected facility manager with five to 10 years of experience as handyperson in a senior-living or hospitality environment, including supervising employees and/or contractors.
  • You lead by demonstrating excellent decision-making, customer service and participative management abilities.
  • You have knowledge and experience with all types of building equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, including kitchen equipment.
  • You possess a Facility Management or Class 5 Power Engineering certification.
  • You have a basic understanding of physical plant operations, maintenance and trouble-shooting of major systems.
  • You are a critical thinker who is responsive and priority-sensitive; able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • You understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and and other professional services engaged with our residents.

At PARC Retirement Living we require a Criminal Record Check, and a TB test within the first month of employment.
