Role: Building Services Manager (Operations & Maintenance)

  • Oversee the operations and preventative/corrective maintenance of all building systems within the courthouse, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, life safety, security, landscaping, etc.
  • Manage service delivery of subcontracted staff.
  • Assign daily responsibilities and provide technical guidance to operations staff.
  • Lead Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives to streamline operations, eliminate redundancies, optimize asset performance, and utilize staff, systems, and budgets effectively.
  • Direct and manage all trades and contractors on site.
  • Maintain accurate and current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various systems.
  • Ensure all mechanical and electrical equipment (chillers, boilers, air handlers, etc.) meet operational and statutory requirements, supporting continuous operation and contractual goals.
  • Utilize and optimize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), build/modify Preventive Maintenance reports, and ensure data integrity.
  • Lead staff health and safety initiatives.
  • Oversee financial objectives, compliance with Health and Safety standards, and monitor, analyze, and report on equipment and facility performance.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for the site.

Is this the right role for you?

  • Minimum of five years of engineering management experience in facility maintenance.
  • At least five years of building operations and/or facilities management experience.
  • Relevant trade certifications (electrical, plumbing, millwright, HVAC) or post-secondary education.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer with expertise in complex mechanical and electrical assets, fluent in Building Systems, familiar with Automation/Controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret SLAs and KPIs.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • P3 experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of building, safety, and fire codes.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and be on-call as required.
  • Security clearance is required.
