Saanich Commonwealth Place has an exciting career opportunity as a Building Service Worker to perform maintenance work in the general operation and service maintenance of swimming pools and other associated buildings and equipment in our world-class aquatic facility and community recreation centre. The Building Service Worker II – Pool performs various maintenance functions involving building maintenance and repairs, swimming pool heating and filtering equipment, custodial and cleaning tasks.
Requirements include Grade 11 or equivalent; Pool Operators I and II Qualification; over three months and up to six months related experience; and WHMIS certification valid within 1 year. Possession of Occupational First Aid Level I is an asset. Employment is subject to provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check no older than 6 months. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
This is shift work including days, evenings, nights, weekends, weekdays, and holidays, 37.5 hours per week.
This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $34.41 per hour with an excellent benefits package. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
