The City of North Vancouver seeks Auxiliary Building Service Workers within its Real Estate, Facilities and Economic Development Department. The role entails various duties such as cleaning, setting up for events, and performing minor maintenance. Ideal candidates should possess janitorial experience and the ability to work independently. This role offers variable hours, requiring flexibility to work any day of the week, contributing to a vibrant community space.

The Real Estate, Facilities and Economic Development Department is looking for Auxiliary Building Service Workers to support the Facilities division.
Responsibilities
You will sweep, wash, wax, and polish floors, hallways and related areas; vacuum carpets; wash hand basins, sinks, toilets, and tile; replenish washroom supplies; pick up, collect and dispose of refuse; set up tables and chairs; assist in event setup and removal, move furniture, perform special cleaning tasks, perform minor building maintenance and repair tasks as well as other related duties that may be assigned.
Requirements
You will have related experience and knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in janitorial work, plus some knowledge of routine building maintenance and minor repair tasks. You must be able to work independently, and understand and follow oral/written instructions. Completion of Building Service Worker courses resulting in a diploma is a definite asset.
Compensation
$27.30 + 12% in lieu of benefits
(Pay Grade 13 – January 2024 rates)
Hours of Work
Auxiliary, hours will vary. Hours between 6:00 am and 11:00 pm any seven days a week.
Additional Information
You may be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance should you be scheduled to perform Building Service Worker duties at the North Vancouver RCMP facilities.
