WSP in Abbotsford, BC is seeking a Building Sciences Technologist to help shape safer, more resilient buildings. Based in Abbotsford, you will support clients across BC's Lower Mainland with building performance, restoration, capital planning and investigative work, both in the office and on site.

This role suits someone curious and versatile who enjoys varied environments and hands-on investigations, with opportunities to develop toward specification writing and project management.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Engineering Technology, Building Science, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• RRO accreditation from IIBEC is required or strongly preferred.
• Experience in a similar building-science role is expected.
• ASTTBC or IIBEC eligibility is an asset.
• Experience in consulting engineering, building assessments, or restoration work.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to building investigation reports and design documentation.
• Participate in building envelope and roofing reviews and restoration assessments.
• Perform non-invasive field investigations including measurements.
• Visit active construction sites to document observations and verify compliance.
• Support work across residential, commercial and education sectors.
• Develop towards specification writing and project management roles.
• Prepare depreciation reports used by strata, asset managers and building owners.
• Develop capital plans for long-term decision making.
