Job summary

WSP is seeking a Building Sciences Engineer to help shape safer, more resilient buildings across BC's Lower Mainland. You will gain hands-on exposure to building performance, restoration, capital planning, and investigative work in both office and field settings.

The ideal candidate holds a post‑secondary engineering qualification, can interpret drawings, and has experience in consulting engineering or building assessments.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary engineering degree or equivalent.
• Eligibility or registration with EGBC as Engineer or EIT.
• Experience in consulting engineering, building assessments, or restoration.
• Foundational knowledge of building materials, construction, envelopes, and M/E components.
• Ability to interpret drawings and synthesize findings into reports.
• Comfortable working in varied field environments and hands-on investigations.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to investigation reports, design docs, and appendices.
• Participate in envelope reviews, restoration assessments, and site investigations.
• Perform non-invasive investigations at heights, ladders, and in confined spaces.
• Visit active construction sites to document observations and collect field test results.
• Support work across residential, commercial and education sectors.
• Develop towards specification writing and CRCA/project management roles.
• Conduct property condition assessments and depreciation reports.
• Develop capital plans for long-term decision-making.
• Share knowledge to enhance the team’s knowledge systems.
