Job summary

Rimkus is seeking a detail-oriented Roofing Technician / Building Science Technologist to join our team, focusing on roofing and building envelope assessments. You will evaluate commercial and residential properties, support rehab and repair design solutions, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves field and office work with site visits, reporting, and coordination. A background in Roofing or Building Science plus 3+ years of project coordination is required;

Qualifications

  • Completion of an engineering, engineering technology or technical trade program with a focus on Roofing, Building Science, Civil Engineering, and/or Structural Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience of relevant project coordination or related technical experience.
  • Being an ARCA approved roofing inspector with 5+ years of inspection experience would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of building science principles, construction methods, building systems, and roofing systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Roofing Technician / Building Science Technologist to join our team and help solve complex challenges involving existing buildings and facility improvements. In this role, you will apply your technical knowledge to evaluate commercial and residential properties, primarily involving roofing and overall building condition assessments, and support practical design solutions for rehabilitation, repair, and adaptive reuse projects. What We’re Looking For: Required

This role includes both office and field work, with regular site visits, roof access, ladder use, and local travel. If you are a self-motivated professional who enjoys hands‑on investigation, technical analysis, and contributing to meaningful building rehabilitation and restoration projects.

The Salary Range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 and is dependent on education, experience,locationand certifications/licensure.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, OVERTIME, AND TRAVEL

Physical Demands –Work will be performed both in an office setting and at outside locations (i.e., Client’s office, industrial, construction, and/or residential sites). Employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb ladders, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and drive a motor vehicle to job sites. Employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employee must be attentive, focused, and alert when conducting site inspections, speaking, and interacting with clients, preparing drawings and written reports. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary.

Overtime –This position is classified as salaried with an exempt FLSA status. Regular working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with one hour for lunch. There will be periods where overtime will be required, which the employee will need to comply with in order to meet the demands of the position.
